Telangana government and Hyderabad metro authority are taking practical steps towards solving a long-standing commuting issue at the Raidurg-Shamshabad airport extension
The government is now planning to expand the metro rail network from Raidurg to the Shamshabad airport via Nanakramguda and Rajendra Nagar. This has been pending since a long ago on approval. At last, the government later approved and the total cost would be around 6000 crores at the primary estimate.

At present people can only travel on the road and the total distance covered is about 28kms. It takes almost 1 to 2 hours in commuting just to reach the airport. With this alternative, people now can travel within 20 minutes on a peaceful journey without traffic congestion.
However, this might take as long as 1 year to complete the tenders and the due diligence. And additionally, 3 years to build the complete railway network
This is completely funded by the state government
